Docusign plans and prices at a glance
Docusign now sells three different things that buyers often mix up: eSignature, Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM). Only the first two have prices on Docusign's own plan pages, checked in September 2026.
| Product and plan | Price (billed yearly) | Users | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| eSignature Personal | $11 a month ($132 a year) | 1 | 5 envelopes a month |
| eSignature Standard | $30 per user a month | 1 or more | 100 envelopes per user a year, shared templates |
| eSignature Business Pro | $45 per user a month | 1 or more | 100 envelopes per user a year, bulk send, web forms, payments |
| IAM Starter | $45 per user a month | 1 to 50 | 100 envelopes per user a year, 1 workflow, AI search and analysis |
| IAM Standard | $50 per user a month ($1,800 a year minimum) | 3 to 50 | Unlimited web app envelopes, 3 workflows, AI features |
| IAM Professional | $80 per user a month ($2,880 a year minimum) | 3 to 50 | Business Pro signing features, 10 workflows, AI features |
| IAM Enterprise | Custom quote | 5 or more | Adds AI-assisted review, branding, org management, 24/7 support |
| Docusign CLM | Custom quote only | Negotiated | Full lifecycle: authoring, clause library, complex workflows, integrations |
The important line is the last one. Buying an eSignature or IAM plan does not give you Docusign CLM. CLM is listed as its own product, and the price depends on users, contract volume, modules, integrations and implementation scope.
What DocuSign CLM actually costs a US company
Because there is no list price, the most useful numbers come from buyers. ContractSafe's 2026 analysis of Vendr transaction data reports these annual ranges, and other comparison sites land in a similar band of about $25,000 to $100,000 a year for typical deployments.
| Company size | Typical annual DocuSign CLM spend | What drives it |
|---|---|---|
| Small deployment | $20,000 to $60,000 a year | Number of users, one or two workflows, basic integrations |
| Mid-market | $60,000 to $200,000 a year | More departments, Salesforce integration, custom workflows |
| Enterprise | $200,000 to $500,000 or more a year | Global rollout, many integrations, premium support |
Three things usually add to the subscription figure.
- Implementation. CLM projects are scoped and priced separately, either by Docusign professional services or by a partner. Complex workflows and data migration are where the hours go.
- Integrations. Salesforce, ERP and procurement connectors are often priced as add-ons or pushed into higher bundles.
- Renewal uplifts. Multi-year enterprise software agreements commonly include an annual price increase. Read the renewal clause before you sign, and put its notice date on a calendar.
A company with 10 people touching contracts is therefore comparing a five-figure CLM quote with IAM at $6,000 to $9,600 a year, or with smaller published tools at under $1,000 a year.
DocuSign IAM cost by team size, compared with a published CLM tool
IAM is the product most small and mid-size teams actually end up quoted for, so here is the math at list price, billed yearly, before any discount.
| Team size | eSignature Business Pro | IAM Standard | IAM Professional | AgreementSoftware |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 users | $1,620 a year | $1,800 a year | $2,880 a year | $288 a year (Starter) |
| 10 users | $5,400 a year | $6,000 a year | $9,600 a year | $888 a year (Plus) |
| 20 users | $10,800 a year | $12,000 a year | $19,200 a year | $2,688 a year (Plus plus 10 seats) |
| 40 users | $21,600 a year | $24,000 a year | $38,400 a year | $2,988 a year (Pro) |
The gap widens with every seat, because Docusign charges per user on every plan while our plans include a block of seats. Docusign wins on signing volume and on its brand with counterparties: unlimited web app envelopes on IAM Standard is a real advantage for a sales team sending hundreds of agreements a month.
When DocuSign CLM pricing makes sense, and when it does not
- DocuSign CLM fits a legal or procurement department at a larger company that drafts from templates at volume, needs multi-step approvals across departments, and already runs Docusign and Salesforce everywhere. The implementation cost is justified when the workflow is complex and the contract count is in the thousands.
- IAM fits teams that send a lot for signature and want AI search over signed agreements, without a CLM project. It is priced per user, so it stays reasonable for small sales teams and gets expensive for wide rollouts.
- Both are more than you need if most contracts arrive as the other side's paper, you sign and file them, and the problem is renewals and notice dates nobody tracks. Then you pay for authoring and workflow features you will rarely open. If your legal work is mostly litigation and court deadlines rather than commercial contracts, an AI assistant for legal practitioners is a better fit than any CLM.
A cheaper alternative to DocuSign CLM for small and mid-size teams
AgreementSoftware covers the part of contract management most US companies without a legal operations team actually need: a searchable repository, AI extraction of dates and key terms with the source sentence shown, renewal and notice reminders, approvals and built-in e-signature. Prices are published and setup takes a day, with no implementation fee.
| DocuSign CLM | Docusign IAM Standard | AgreementSoftware Plus | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | Custom quote, often $20,000 or more a year | $50 per user a month, 3-user minimum | $149 a month, or $888 a year billed yearly |
| Users included | Negotiated | Paid per user | 10, extra seats $15 a month |
| AI extraction of dates and terms | Yes | Yes | 300 documents a month |
| Renewal and notice reminders | Yes | Yes | Yes, 90, 60, 30 and 7 days, plus custom obligations |
| Approval workflows | Yes, complex and multi-step | Limited by workflow count | Yes, by contract type and value |
| E-signature | Through Docusign eSignature | Unlimited web app envelopes | 150 envelopes a month |
| Implementation | Scoped project | Self-serve | Same day, self-serve |
Docusign wins on signing volume, counterparty familiarity and deep enterprise workflows. If you mostly need to know what you signed, when it renews and who owns it, our contract reminder software and repository do that for under $1,000 a year for 10 people. Try it on one of your own agreements in the demo at the top of this page.
How to get a better DocuSign CLM or IAM quote
- Get a published price first. A written price from a smaller tool, or IAM list prices, gives your rep a number to beat.
- Buy the users you need now. Per-user pricing punishes shelfware. Start with the people who actually touch contracts and add seats at renewal.
- Cap the renewal uplift. Ask for a fixed renewal price or a cap on annual increases in the order form, and diarize the notice date so the renewal is a decision, not an accident.
- Separate implementation from subscription. Ask for a fixed-fee implementation scope, with the workflows and integrations listed, so the project cannot grow after signing.
We compared other vendors the same way in our Concord pricing, ContractSafe pricing and Ironclad alternatives for small business posts.
How much does DocuSign CLM cost?
Docusign does not publish CLM prices, and every deal is a custom quote. Third-party purchase data puts small deployments at roughly $20,000 to $60,000 a year and mid-market at $60,000 to $200,000, before implementation. Published Docusign IAM plans cost $45 to $80 per user a month billed yearly.
Is DocuSign CLM included in DocuSign eSignature?
No. eSignature plans from $11 a month cover sending and signing. IAM plans add AI search and workflows, but Contract Lifecycle Management is a separate product with its own quote. Check your order form, since some enterprise bundles combine them.
What is the difference between Docusign IAM and Docusign CLM?
IAM is a per-user subscription that adds AI analysis, a smart repository and simple workflows on top of eSignature, with published prices. CLM is an enterprise contract lifecycle product for authoring, clause libraries and complex approval workflows, sold on custom quotes with an implementation project.
Is DocuSign CLM worth the cost?
It is worth it for large legal or procurement teams that draft at volume and need multi-department workflows tied to Salesforce. For teams that mainly store, sign and track renewal dates, a five-figure CLM contract buys features they will rarely use.
What is a cheaper alternative to DocuSign CLM?
For small and mid-size teams that need a repository, AI date extraction, renewal reminders, approvals and e-signature, AgreementSoftware costs $288 a year for 3 users or $888 a year for 10 users, with published prices and no implementation fee.
